Club Activities

Every day, millions of children around the world miss out on the joy of childhood. Instead of playing with toys, they deal with poverty, malnutrition and disabilities.

Leo clubs can bring hope and laughter, and make a positive impact for children in both local and international communities through projects like these:

Especially on December 5, International Leo Day.

Community Service

Making the World a Better Place for Children

Every day, millions of children around the world miss out on the joy of childhood. Instead of playing with toys, they deal with poverty, malnutrition and disabilities. That's why Leo clubs work on international Leo projects and local community service projects to improve the lives of children.

International Leo Projects

Spotlight on Children is the international service project of Leo clubs. Spotlight on Children projects give Leos the opportunity to enrich the lives of children by:

  • Collecting food and clothes for local street children
  • Repairing playgrounds
  • Implementing after-school tutoring programs
  • Visiting children in hospitals
  • Raising funds for immunization programs

Through projects like these, Leo clubs bring hope and laughter to needy children, especially on December 5, International Leo Day.

Local Community Service Projects

Leos also show their generosity and creativity via community service projects. Here are just a few examples of successful projects Leos have completed around the world.

  • Onekama Leos, Michigan, USA, planted 900 daffodil bulbs in an 80-acre public park.
  • The Calgary Millennium Leo Club, Alberta, Canada, sponsored a child in Romania.
  •  Ferrara Leo Club, Italy, sold chocolates to raise funds for Special Olympics.

Serving Together

Leo clubs and their sponsoring Lions clubs are encouraged to collaborate with each other.  Collaboration can include:

  • Joint Service Projects
  • Joint meetings
  • Participation in each other's activities and/or events
